Jennifer Liu, LPCC-S, RPT Owner of Cincinnati Counseling and Play Therapy
Jenny Liu is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor (LPCC-S) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). At this time she works primarily with adolescents and adults. Jenny has worked in the mental health field since 2008, and has focused her career on mental health counseling since 2013. She has experience working with clients ages 2 to 90–meeting in homes, schools, nursing homes, and office-settings. She also has experience working with depression, anxiety, self-acceptance and trauma experience.
Jenny believes in the power of positive relationships and works to establish trust and rapport with each client. Jenny uses an integrative approach and utilizes interventions dependent on the individual's needs. When working with adults, she utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy. For older children and adolescents, she uses a combination of play therapy and CBT. For younger children, she uses child-centered play therapy which allows clients to express themselves without having to be able to verbalize their thoughts and feelings. Jenny enjoys integrating mindfulness techniques with clients of all ages. Jenny is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Play Therapy. She has training in Play Therapy, Theraplay, Sandtray Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is a graduate of Hanover College (BA, Psychology) and Xavier University (MA, Mental Health Counseling).

Emily Heydinger, CT
Emily Heydinger is a graduate from Miami University where she earned a degree in Psychology and a double minor in Child Studies and Management and Leadership. Currently, Emily is working on her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Xavier University. Emily has experience working with both children and adults.
Previously, Emily served as a job coach for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities, with ages ranging from 16 to 55. Emily also worked as a camp counselor at Camp BraveHeart, where she worked with children ages 5 to 12 who had experienced the death of a loved one. While at Miami University, Emily assisted with the Incredible Years Program, where she worked with at-risk children in schools. Emily also worked as a research assistant where she helped conduct a study that examined the impact of attachment between a child and his/her mother. When working with children, Emily utilizes a directive and/or non-directive play therapy approach. For older individuals, Emily uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach.
